The series of buildings and gardens, known as Royal Garden Pavilion (Várkert Bazár), was designed by architect Miklós Ybl in Neo-Renaissance style and built in 1875-1883. (We can see a detail in the photo.) Now it is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites.- Neo-Renaissance (Renaissance Revival) is a form of Historicism, it is a reversion to Renaissance. It was mainly be applied in architecture and in handicrafts in the 19th century. Miklós Ybl, one of the greatest Hungarian architects, can be credited with establishing the Neo-Renaissance style in Hungary. Hungarian Opera House, Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Saint Stephen’s Basilica were also designed in this style. • A Várkert Bazár Ybl Miklós tervei szerint épült 1875 és 1883 között neoreneszánsz stílusban. (Egy részletét láthatjuk a képen.) Egykor árkádsorai üzletekkel voltak tele. Ma kiemelt műemlék, a világörökség része. A felújítás első üteme Ybl Miklós születésének 200. évfordulójára készült el (2014). - A neoreneszánsz a historizmus azon ága, mely a reneszánsz stílusjegyeit alkalmazza. A neogótika után bontakozott ki és Magyarországon jelentős szerepet kapott, főkelnt az építészetben. Ismert neoreneszánsz stílusú épületek még: Magyar Operaház, Magyar Tudományos Akadémia, Szent István Bazilika. |
