They were sculpted by Gábor Varga, and erected in 2006. - The Thirteen Hungarian Martyrs of Arad were executed by the Austrian Empire on October 6, 1849 in the city of Arad, then part of the Kingdom of Hungary (now belongs to Romania), after the supressed 1848–1849 Hungarian Revolution. ⛳ A Hadtörténeti Múzeum (Budai Várnegyed, Kapisztrán tér) belső udvarán állunk a 13 aradi vértanú – Aulich Lajos, Damjanich János, Dessewffy Arisztid, Kiss Ernő, Knézich Károly, Lahner György, Lázár Vilmos, Leiningen-Westerburg Károly, Nagysándor József, Poeltenberg Ernő, Schweidel József, Török Ignác, Vécsey Károly – és Batthyány Lajos mellszobra előtt. Varga Gábor alkotását 2006-ban avatták fel. – A 13 aradi vértanút a levert 1848–49-es forradalom és szabadságharcban való részvételük miatt 1849. október 6-án kivégezték Aradon.
