Filozófiai Kert - Garden of Philosophy - Wagner Nándor szobrász - Hungary Culture Photography

On a summer day I proposed my grandson Domi to see the memorial ‘Garden of Philosophy’ on Gellért Hill (Budapest 1st district). It was sculpted by Nándor Wagner; it was not for order but his present to Budapest. It consists of eight figures. Five on a circle around a ball in the center – in a counter-clockwise direction: Jesus of Nazareth (on the left), Echnaton, Abraham (praying while lying), Lao Tze and Gautama Buddha – symbolize different religions from around the world. The other three, from different times and cultures, standing in a row behind the circle. From the left: Mahatma Gandhi, Bodhidharma (Daruma) and Francis of Assisi have greatly influenced spiritual enlightenment. The composition demonstrates the efforts of human kind for a better mutual understanding. • PHOTO with COMMENT ⛳ Egy nyári napon Domi unokámmal megnéztük a ‘Filozófiai Kertet’ a Gellért-hegyen. A szoborcsoport Wagner Nándor Japánban élő művész ajándéka volt Budapest számára 1997-ben, amelyet 2001 októberében avattak fel először. 2006-ban három szobrot elloptak. Ezeket 2010-re pótolták. A kör peremén lévő öt alak, az óramutató járásával ellentétes irányban haladva balról: Názáreti Jézus, Ehnaton, Ábrahám (fekve imádkozik), Lao-Ce és Buddha, akiktől a világvallások származtathatók. A körön kívül állók, egy sorban (a képen jobbról balra): Assisi Szent Ferenc, Bódhidharma (Daruma) és Mahatma Gandhi különböző kultúrákban élt, felvilágosult gondolkodók voltak. • A KÉP MAGYARÁZATTAL
