Eötvös József szobra, alkotók: Huszár Adolf és Ybl Miklós - Hungary Culture Photography

We are in Eötvös square, right next to Széchenyi István square in the Inner City of Budapest. The bronze statue of Hungarian writer and statesman József Eötvös, father of the world-famous physicist Loránd Eötvös, was erected in 1879. It was made by Adolf Huszár and architect Miklós Ybl. - In the photo are also seen details of the Art Nouveau (Secession) Gresham Palace (on the left) and the eclectic building housing the Ministry of Interior (on the right). Design of the Gresham Palace is credited to architect Zsigmond Quittner and Vágó Brothers. ⛳ A Duna-korzó északi végén lévő Eötvös téren járunk, Budapest belvárosában, közvetlenül a Széchenyi István tér mellett. A képen Báró Eötvös József író, a Batthyány-kormány, majd az Andrássy-kormány vallás- és közoktatásügyi miniszterének szobra látható. Alkotói: Huszár Adolf szobrász és Ybl Miklós, mint közreműködő építész (1879). - A kép bal oldalán a Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace szecessziós (Art Nouveau), a jobb oldalon pedig a Belügyminisztérium eklektikus épületének részletét láthatjuk. Előbbit Quittner Zsigmond és a Vágó fivérek tervezték.
