Liszt Ferenc Zeneakadémia, egyházi zene fríz - Music Academy - Hungary Culture Photography

The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music was founded by the composer himself in 1875. Now it is mainly housed in a highly ornamented building that is one of the most characteristic examples of the Central European Secession (Art Nouveau) architecture. It is located in the square, named after the composer, in Budapest 6. district (Terézváros). The building was designed by architects Flóris Korb and Kálmán Giergl and it was completed by 1907. - The frieze that runs above the first floor windows was made by the sculptor and medalist Ede Telcs. It shows the main periods of the music history. In the photo the ‘Medieval Church Music’ scene is seen with the dominant song and organ (second from left on the facade). • The FULL FACADE ⛳ A képen a Liszt Ferenc Zeneművészeti Egyetem (Zeneakadémia) főhomlokzatának egyik részlete látható a zeneszerzőről elnevezett téren, Terézvárosban, Budapest 6. kerületében. A magyar szecessziós építészet egyik kiemelkedő alkotásának számító – 1907-ben megnyílt – Zeneakadémiát Korb Flóris és Giergl Kálmán tervezték. Kevés ilyen gazdagon díszített épület található Budapesten. - A földszinti ablakok felett, a kapukeretek által meg-megszakítva fut egy fríz, mely a zenetörténet jellegzetes korszakait: az antik, a középkori, a rokokó és a modern zenét ábrázolja. A képen a ‘Középkori egyházi zene’ jelenet látható (a homlokzaton balról a második), ahol az egyházi ének és az orgona dominál. A többrészes allegorikus kompozíció a szobrász és éremművész Telcs Ede tehetségét dicséri. • TELJES HOMLOKZAT
