St.Ladislaus Church, Art Nouveau - Szecessziós templom, Lechner Ödön - Hungary Culture Photography

In the photo a detail of Saint Ladislaus Church is seen. The church is located in Kőbánya, Budapest 10th district. Designed by Hungarian architect Ödön Lechner it is regarded to be the most significant Art Noveau – Szecesszió (Secession) in Hungarian – church in Budapest and certainly the most famous building in the district. Its hexagonal main tower is 83 meter high, making it one of the tallest in Hungary. The domes of the central and lower side towers and the roof of the church are covered with glazed tiles that were made in the Zsolnay factory. The style of the church has been influenced by Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and also Hungarian and Persian folk architecture. The ornamental statues were sculpted by György Kiss. - It was built between 1894 és 1899, and consecrated on June 27, 1900. ⛳ Kőbánya legismertebb nevezetessége a Szent László téren álló Szent László-templom. Ennek egyik részletét láthatjuk a fotón. - A templom 1894 és 1899 között épült fel Lechner Ödön tervei alapján. A tervező, akit a magyar szecessziós építészet megteremtőjeként tisztelünk, eklektikus-szecessziós stílusban tervezte meg a gyönyörű templomot. Román, gótikus, reneszánsz, barokk, valamint perzsa és magyar népi stílusok ötvözésével érte el az összhangot a templom lenyűgöző külső megjelenésében. A templomot díszítő szobrokat Kiss György szobrász készítette. - 1900. június 27-én (László napon) szentelték fel Budapest kétségtelenül leghíresebb szecessziós templomát.
